Futsal

Another activities of the Carnival, at 3pm, the fittest brothers of Wo Men came to the toughest activities of the years - futsal at Gembira Parade.

The Hui Chang Team consists of Hui Chang, Huey kaey, A Pek, a Pong and also Pong & Howko juniors. Opui Team formed by Opui, Keun Wei and 2 other imported friends.

Lau Ee came at 4.30pm just in time to have after games hawker food session.

After 45minutes of tough fight. Opui kena yellow card by knocking Apek to the ground and nearly sent to Lam Wah Ee. Apong and Howko handsome sons played very well and could be next Beckham 10 years later.
Finally, Hui Chang Team beat opui Team by 10-8 mainly contributed by 2 fattest brothers, Huey Kaey and APong, thinest Apek and Liverpool No. 1 fan hui chang. This also proof that who said fat can not win.

Squash with China National players

We had our non competition squash session at Bukit Dumbar Squash Center also known previously as Pepsi Squash Court. A bunch of China National players also joined us at the adjacent courts. We were told that they were trying to learn from the best of wo-men. paiseh paiseh.
One of the male players commented "看你们的身材,一定是一星期打三次"
This is definitely a very true and honest comment. We are so fit that I would not blame you if you can't recognise from the pictures
- which one is the China National player
- which one is Aaron Soyza (the Penang state coach)
- which one is Keun Wei
- which one is Huey Kaey
- etc.

Supper on Christmas Night.

I received an instruction from our hui chang to blog the above pictures. The pictures were taken after the yum seng session on the Christmas Night. You can see hui kaey was enjoying his supper even though his stomach has blocked him from seeing his L for many years.

3rd Program - hiking & jungle trekking to No 3

Only the 4 fittest brothers get to join this adventurous and tough junggle trekking. The starting point is near the Children's Playground Youth Park. The hills and the checkpoints have boring names in No 2 Checkpoint, No 3 Checkpoint and No 5 Checkpoint. We wanted to ascend via Youth Park and descend via Ayer Itam Penang Hill route but decided to drop the idea after Ah Pee told us he has a house warming party to attend.

We stop at No 3 peak. Rumors have it that this is the toughest outdoor actvities in recent years for Ah Pee.

The reward of this trip

- beautiful scenery of Penang - overseeing the northern part of the island and the sea

- nice bird chirping sound

- fresh air and green

- curry chicken! Really looked and smelt good!! The good samaritans must be good cooks too. No kidding, you can have curry chicken at the 3rd checkpoint!

However, our captain Keun Wei banned us from eating the curry chicken. Pee, Huey Kaey and I were devastated. We understood the reason of the captain though, at the end of the trip. We were grateful for his leadership.

And, we vow to come back again - to eat the curry chicken.

2nd Program - Bah Kut Tea at Carnation Cafe

What happened this morning is quite typical of wo-men's gatherings:-
9.15am - Arrival of O Pui at Carnation Cafe. O Pui grabbed the seat and read newspaper.
9.30am - Arrival of Keun Wei. Keun Wei sat down.
9.35am - Arrival of Pee and Hong So. We saw Keun Wei and sat with him.
9.38am - Arrival of How Kor. He saw the three us and sat with us.
9.39am - Bah Kut Teh was served with Yu Char Kuih, Soup, Yam Rice.
9.50am - Arrival of Pek and his family. He saw the four of us. Uncle and Auntie Lee and Ah Lah chatted with us.
9.51am - O Pui saw Ah Lah and suddenly ran to us. He cursed us for not noticing him - making him like gong kia. He then join us to enjoy the Bah Kut Teh.
10.30am - Arrival of Huey Kaey citing jam at Green Lane loh tao for his delay.
10.45am - Photo taking sesssion.
11.15am - Ah Pee paid the bill (thank you Ah Pee). We adjourned.
11.16am - End of the 2nd Program.
11.17am - Start of warming up for the 3rd Program

Kick off Event for Year End Celebration

We had the meeting cum drinking session at the new usual place -
O'reileys Pub

near Queensbay. Keun Wei, Turkey, Pee, Pek joined the planning meeting. It was decided that we will have 2 programs the following day followed by a few badminton, squash, futsal sessions and some yum seng and makan gatherings next week. Pek was sick but obliged to join us too. He should get few awards for his excellent engagement.

He further confirmed that Turkey can go ahead to plan for his big day.

We had the Kueh Teow Ting to cap off the good chat session. This duck meat noodle soup is really really nice. In case you don't know, this Wash Coth Bridge place is the branch and is located near O Bah's house at Pantai Jerejak/Batu Uban- not the one next to Shell Station opposite MBS.

One of our brothers made a blunder and ended up turning at the wrong Wash Cloth Bridge many years ago.

再见了 春满园

This is where you can get the best bargain for school uniforms, stationeries, tuala (or for that matter, any general items that you can think of) and the most complete necessities required for a wedding. I brought my mother to buy pagoda shirts and pajamas for my dad yesterday.
Ham's dad said that they are forced to move out in 2008 to pave the way for another development. They will move the 心益shop to their Lebuh Noordin's house.
All of us have very fond memory of this place. At times, we hope that Ham's mum, dad, sister, uncles would continue to be too busy selling stuffs in 春满园so that we would not get caught watching interesting movies at Ham's house.
Ham's house has to be the undisputed club house for us in 80s!
Farewell 春满园。Sadly, when I was trying to take the picture of the writing of the place, I could not find any. It was either covered by other signboards or it was just simply dissapeared.
I also tapao ow-chiang at the stall nearby. Ham used to claim that 邓丽君ate there before. It is still taste very good.
