Wo-Men Diary's Meeting

Chief Editor Keun Wei called for a meeting for Wo-Men Diary 09 at the most prestige kopitiam in town at Gurney Drive. You could have all Penang famous hawker food here with a nice sea view and sea breeze.

The meeting basically set the outlined of the hui-xun and the target date for each stage of publication. Keun Wei will elaborate in more detail through emails or blog.

Hui Chang Visit KL's Brothers

I visited KL Brothers on 10th March, 2009. Dr Lim, GV & elephant joined the drinking cum dinner cum supper session at Dataran Prima, Baywatch, somewhere in Kelana Jaya. Tatt & Oba could not make it that night.

As usual, we had our Wo-Men's ways of drinking and chit-chatting. We also met some of the GV's friends and joined in the "fastest bottom-up beer drinking" competition. However, the best drinker of Wo-Men, GV could only score 2.3second, rank no. 4. The fastest record that night was a women lawyer scored at 1.8s. The lawyer still the best drinker and we should send our best drinker of Penang Wo-Men, Pee to join the competition next time.

It was a good catch-up and we left at 12midnight. Thanks Dr Lim for sending me back to my hotel in Ampang.

We had also achieved some fundamental understandings of Wo-Men synergy project and shall proceed into more details later.

Let's temporary forget about politics and EPL/FA Cup this weekend and turn our attention to the two Penang langs. Nicol will be meeting Natalie Grainger in the final of KL Open at Berjaya Times Square today. Nicol should be able to clinch her first of the many titles for the year. As our fellow Bukit Dumbar Pepsi Court kaki, we are really proud of her.

We hope that Chong Wei will also bring cheer on Sunday night. Chong Wei should beat Finland's Ville Lang. Hopefully he will beat either Taufik or Peter Gade to progress to final. Then, let's stop that Lin Dan.

I managed to interview him before Chinese New Year in a Maxis internal event. He was describing to us on how he has to do 4 dope tests leading to the Olympics finals. Lin Dan remains his key target for this year.

I thought the chemistry between him and Misbun was real good. My impression of Misbun changed after this interview. He is really dedicated, humble, good in analysing opponents and is really a good mentor to Chong Wei.

Let's hope we have a Penang lang as the new All England champion come Sunday night!

In years to come, am sure Goh Jr will also do us proud by winning the same title :) By then we can watch and cheer together at Jasmine Tower.

人生四十才开始

写这篇部落时，我一个人坐在吉隆玻安邦一间酒店的角落，用高科技的无线上网，跟世界联系。

給我们的同学会第一个踏入四十岁的巴打打了一个祝福的电话。

是的，祝寿，生日快乐。

祝寿在电话的那一端说，四十岁了，感觉好像有别于前几年，好像人生到了一个段落，要好好地思考一下，审视过去，计划未来。

我们谈了一些过去，望着车来车往的繁华，我也沉思起来。

我们过了懵懵懂懂的20年岁月，匆匆忙忙的4年大学生活，然后是16年营营役役的成家立业。于是，我们到了人生的这个点。

上个星期，我翻了收集的照片，竟然发现大部分的照片都是在中学和大学时拍的，那时的我们，活力，自动主办活动，尽情的"suan"王，吵架不讲话，强说愁又满怀理想，有一种“我们就是世界，世界就是我们”的气概。

工作到现在，我们可能有了事业，我们可能有了家庭，我们可能有了孩子，我们可能原地踏步。我们之间多了谅解鼓励，我们可能不再猫，但是我总是觉得好像少了对人生的热情和当年的气概。就这样，我们又走了16年。

还好，人生本来就不慢，除非我们自动放弃。人生本来就不需比较，除非他不是巴打。人生本来就不需计较，因为我们本来就是"suan"王。

而人生四十一枝花，

人生四十而不惑，

人生四十才开始。

祝福所有今年踏入人生不惑之年的巴打（进成除外），有一个美好人生的开始。

我们的俱乐部

我们的同学会今年的另一项概念计划，就是探讨“我们的俱乐部”的可行性。

这个计划暂时不设实行的期限，但是经过委员会三轮的讨论之后，我们有了一些初步的概念。

这个计划的缘起是为了在我们到达退休的年龄的时候，儿女已经长大，也许拥有他们自己的生活空间，而且我们的生活也会缓慢下来，为了使三代的生活更能适得其所，于是我们就有了这一个念头：

我们找一个属于我们的天地，我们住在靠近的地方，方便联络和进行一些共同的节目，比如运动，休闲，喝酒叹茶，谈天，等等。我们可以有自己各自的的家庭活动，但更多的时候，我们可以用我们的方式处理我们的生活，而不需干扰到下一代，自己也可以有一个更有意义的黄金岁月。


我们的初步概念如下：

位置：槟岛

住的地方：拥有休闲设备的公寓， 1000~1500 平方尺。

购买方式：有兴趣的巴打可以各自买一间做为己用。

共同俱乐部：参与的巴打可以公司购买一间充作打屁的场所。

购买时间：不设限，在找到适合的地方之后，有兴趣的巴打可以在适合自己的时间购买。

更深入的探讨，将在集合所有有兴趣的巴打之后，在进行大家都能够接受的基本条件后，付诸行动。


因为这个概念的执行时间可能不是在短期之内，所以，并不着急，但因为屋价会不停的上涨，所以我们会开始注意适合的物业，如能够开始进行购买，即使将来不要用到，也可以当作是一项投资。

我们的日记- 资料收集

I spent 2 hours today to search and sort out things related to 我们的同学会 from my store and above are what I found at the moment.

However, I still could not find the other box that contained Hui Xuns and souvenirs.

I still kept birthday and new year cards that we used to receive in the old days. I also kept a few albums that contained all our memories and the winning trophies during 1991 & 2007 Sports Tournaments.

This is only part of our memories and I hope all of us could take some times to dig out more materials from our old stores to assist the editor board of 我们的日记 for more complete compilations.

我们的日记

Our chief editor, keun wei presented his concept of our 2009 会讯in the meeting last week. As he had not registered as co-author of this blog, I am honoured to convey his concept to all brothers in this blog.

The idea of having the 会讯was triggered in of our our drinking session early this year. (Drinking session could trigger a lot of ideas, please come and join us next time). It had been many years of our brotherhood and this is a good time to do a compilation of all these memories and set as our life milestone before we enter the next part of life.

会讯的书名暂定为“我们的日记”

封面故事：“年少时候”

封底故事：“多年以后”

主题曲：“细水长流”

第一部曲：“物” (The Things)

这是一次关于我们的同学会所有“物”的大收集。

我们的会讯，我们的T-shirt, 我们的生日礼物，我们的歌，我们"载料"的摩多和车，每一个东西都有着我们的故事，我们希望能够把它们收集起来，或者把它们拍照起来，在我们的日记里述说它们的故事。

征求：所有巴打都能够帮忙找出来，或者想起来，希望能够把它们找齐，收录在这本日记里。

期限：60天（15/4/09）

第二部曲：“事”（The Happenings)

这是一次关于我们的同学会所有“事”的大收集。

我们的学会活动，我们的bungalow stay, 我们的生日会，我们的离别会，我们的大学生活，我们的国外经验，我们的爱情，我们的事业，我们的家庭，我们都希望把这些点点滴滴记录下来。有些活动我们没有参与，有些参与了不过没有照片留念。我们都希望把这些照片收集起来，让大家都有共同的回忆。

征求：所有巴打都能够贡献或借出私人收藏的宝贵照片，如没有数码的，我们会把这些照片转为数码照片。也征求你们记得的故事，这一部分我们会尽量让照片说故事。

期限：60天（15/4/09）

第三部分：“人”（The Brothers）

这是一个关于我们的故事。

我们每个人都有一段故事，从我们出生到现在，在我们的人生中，会有一些快乐的，伤心的，得意的，失意的，要与不要与人分享的，想要告诉人的，我们的日记为巴打们提供一个私人版位，让巴打们记录这一路走来的大事记录。

（总编辑的概念是把我们个人的人生值得纪念和分享的事和年份记录在一条人生线上，为自己的人生做一个记录。）

征求：所有巴打都尽量回想过去的人生值得记录的事情和时间，比如第一次拿金牌，失恋，恋爱，SRP拿8A，结婚，生孩子，等等，然后记录下来，编辑们会在构思呈现方式后告诉大家。

期限：90天（15/5/09）

以上是初步的三部曲，大家如有意见，欢迎提供。其它内容会再陆续发表。

“我们的日记”的初步概念会以一本设计优美的纪念刊方式加上DVD收集所有的数码记录。我们计划聘请专人帮我们软体设计这本特刊，但一切都要有赖以各位的资料支持和印刷成本，等一切资料得以收集后再谈。

Once a brother always a brother

With the instruction of Hui Chang, I sent invitation to 11 brothers to join us as co-authors for this blog. I sent to Angtau, PBK, Boo Wei, Bong (also known as JC), PK (yes, believe it or not :)), Beh, HowKor, Birdie, PBK's cousin :), Elephant, Joo Chuan.
We now have 15 brothers as co-authours - and this is really great. It will be greater if all 26 brothers come on board.
I got the inspiration from Tua when thinking of the picture to attach with this posting. I agree with the saying 'once a brother always a brother'. But what we do need is some participation and voice from those dormant brothers. If that is also not possible, I think it is fair that we leave them out from our future plans.
We leave it to you, our honorable Hui Chang.

WoMen Exco Meeting

Back to work. The first WoMen exco meeting was held at A Pee house at 10pm on 7 February 2009 a day after PKR government was taken over. 7 brothers attended the meeting, others were not attended due to some personal matters. However, all were able to be contacted and no one "missing". The WoMen still politically stable.

Again, the meeting was accompanied with free flow 18 years whisky, snacks, strawberry and 26,000 karaoke songs. Thanks again to A Pee for his wonderful hosting.

A few agenda as follows were discussed in the meeting:

1) The meeting encouraged those brothers not yet registered Wo Men de Tong Xue Hui blog to do so and contribute posts or comments to make our blogs more interesting sharing, lively and variety. Tatt to send all again the registration procedures thru email.

2) The meeting also proposed Facebook as WoMen official social networking website

3) One of the major project this year, the Hui Xun. Our chief editor, keun wei presented his conceptual design of Hui Xun 2009 at the meeting. The tentative Hui Xun title called "我们的日记". The detail shall be presented in the later post.

4) Another long term project, tentative name "我们的俱乐部" was tabled in the meeting and discussed. The meeting finally established the basis criteria for the club and shall all be presented in detail in later post.

5) The meeting also discussed some other activities but to be confirmed in the next meeting.

6) The meeting also hope all brothers either in Penang or outstation to propose if any ideas or activities for the year.

The meeting ended effectively with the above resolutions and continued with drinking and karaoke session. The party ended 2am.
